Anniversary of The Opening of The Usk Reservoir 2015

Fri, 7 Aug 2015 12:00 am

Next year will be an anniversary of the opening of The Usk Reservoir. Unfortunately, vandals have chose to steal the two bronze plaques that were installed at the opening of the reservoir on August 7th 1955 by Queen Elisabeth and The Duke of Edinburgh. It supplied the City of Swansea, but it is also a fantastic leisure area for locals and tourists. It offers a family bike ride around the waters edge of 7 miles and at present hasn`t been discovered by thousands of people. We have used the facility for Community walks in the past. I`m sure there will be a celebration of this event during 2015. There is a video report on the visit on BBC, and other details can be found on various websites, particularly The BBNP website. Please visit this site again for more news on the events.
